2010 WESTERN TENNIS

Welcome Western Members!

Greetings and welcome to the 2010 tennis season!  It’s almost time for summer tennis here at Western. If you have not picked up a racket in the past couple of months, it’s time to get the rust off your game. The staff here at Western are committed to servicing all of your tennis needs.  Please feel free to drop by or call with any questions or concerns you may have.

Meet the New Director of Tennis

My name is Chris Irvine and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with all the great people here at Western. If you’re wondering about my experience, since 2005 I have been serving as the assistant professional at Walnut Creek Country Club where I learned firsthand what it takes to run a successful country club tennis program.  You might also know me from The Sports Club of Novi, where I have been teaching tennis classes since 2002.  My goal as director is for this program to serve its members as best as possible.  Whether you’re a die-hard tennis player or have never played before, I want to get everyone involved. Next time your up at the club, drop by the courts and say hi - I’d love the chance to introduce myself in person.  See you out there!

Meet the Staff

CHRIS TREADWELL

Chris comes to us from Red Run Golf Club where he has served as the assistant head pro for the past two years.  Earlier in 2010, Chris worked in the same office as Nick Bolletttieri while working at the IMG Sports Academy in Florida.  Chris is graduating from Grand Valley State University and played four years of varsity tennis for Salem High School prior to college.

CARLY LYALL

Carly’s name may look familiar as she is no stranger to Western. 2010 will be Carly’s third summer of teaching tennis here and I am thrilled to be able to have her back. Carly is currently finishing up her junior year at MSU. Before enrolling at State, she was a four year varsity member of Novi High School’s girls’ tennis team.
