Dear Western Swimming Families:

Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching and swim practice will soon begin.  Enclosed in this packet is information to help you prepare for the season, as well as help the coaching staff get organized for this summer and continue to run a good program.

Please take the time to review each sheet that is enclosed.  Where necessary, please fill out the sheets completely and return them on May 2nd at the Spring Sports Banquet, or to the pool office beginning Memorial Day weekend.  If something is not clear, please make sure and call me at 734-425-8953 (Home), or at 248-865-6748 (School).

Please try and make as many practices this season as possible!  In addition to good attendance, being on time and ready to swim is also important.  Punctuality should be the norm, not the exception!  Parents, please do what you can to encourage your swimmers to cooperate in these areas.

Please review the practice calendars closely to see what time your group will practice everyday.  I know the days early in the season are tough to make sometimes.  Springtime and the finish of the school year make it very difficult to squeeze everything in.  If you can be diligent in practicing as much as possible, we have a better chance of getting off to a good start!    You will see the daily schedule on the enclosed calendars.  Remember that our opponents have changed from last year since we have moved back to the White Division.  Our toughest opponent will probably be Oakland Hills, which is our first meet of the year.

Finally, the swim team fee instituted by the Board will reflect a slight increase this year.  The cost is as follows:   1^st child - $125, 2^nd child - $65, 3^rd child - $35.  There will be no additional cost for 4 or more children, so the family maximum is still $225.  Please note that these fees apply to swimmers in the A, B, and C groups.  Swimmers participating in the D group this year will be charged a $75 fee which will go to the Coaches, not the club.  Should you have a younger child who progresses and joins the swim team, they would be assessed the corresponding fee at that time.
